Abstract
1,263,064. Scrapers. JOHN H. TAYLOR Ltd. 30 May, 1969 [30 May, 1968], No. 25872/ 68. Heading E1F. A tractor-mounted yard scraper adaptable for pulling or pushing comprises a blade 13 carried by arms 14 pivoted to the mid-regions of side plates 11 on a supporting bar 12, whereby the blade 13 can selectively be swung to lie at the front or rear of the plates 11, e.g. against stops 17. A chain 19 and cord-controlled trip device 18-20 holds the blade 13 in the selected position. The changeover may be effected from the driver's seat by (a) releasing the trip device, (b) raising the bar 12 to allow the blade 13 to swing down to a horizontal position, and (c) lowering the bar 12 while driving forwardly or rearwardly as required. As the bar 12 is lowered, an angled strip on the outer face of the blade 13 engages the ground to promote tilting towards the required position.
