Abstract

1,262,677. Sheet-delivery apparatus; folding paper. LAMSON PARAGON Ltd. 25 July, 1969 [6 Aug., 1968], No. 37552/69. Heading B8R. Apparatus for stacking horizontally-delivered sheets S to a descending pile table 30 includes flexible rings 40 of rubber or like material of substantially greater diameter than and trained loosely about driven pulleys 36 to engage and move the sheets against end stops 55. Similar rings may be used in a zig-zag folding machine as described below. To cause each ring 40 to engage the groove of its pulley 36, a leversupported roller 42 is employed, and an angle plate 45 may be provided at each side of the pulley. The sheets are delivered by endless bands 12 with which co-operate lever supported rollers 14, 15. Side members 60 with outwardly divergent flanges 62 may be provided to bend and stiffen the sheets. Vertical plates or tabs 66 may be provided at the edge of the table opposite to the stops 55 to confine that edge of the pile. Zig-folders.-As shown in Fig. 6, in the stacking of a zig-zag folded form delivered by an oscillating shoot 150, flexible rings 140 loosely trained around driven pulleys 136 may be used to press the folds against stops 102.
