Abstract

1,261,807. Valves. GURTNER S.A. 21 April, 1969 [22 April, 1968], No. 20215/69. Heading F2V. A pressure reducing valve for controlling the flow from a pair of propane gas bottles has a pair of aligned inlets 2, 3 each fitted with a valve member 7 controlled by a respective lever 15 which transmits the movements of a washer 17 eccentrically mounted by pin 19 to a plunger 20 which moves with a diaphragm 24 responsive to outlet pressure and which is rotatable by knob 34 to vary the disposition of the washer. Diaphragm 38 responds to excess outlet pressure to close safety valve 44, 45. In use, as the outlet pressure falls, diaphragm 24 rises and, with washer 17 positioned as shown, lever 15 corresponding to inlet 2 is pivoted by the washer as the latter pivots about its contact with lever 15 of inlet 3. When the gas bottle supplying inlet 2 is exhausted, the lever 15 of inlet 2 will abut stop 60 and the washer will then pivot about that stop to move lever 15 of inlet 3. Rotation of knob 34 through 180 degrees can then be made to reverse washer 17 and allow replacement of the exhausted bottle.
