Abstract

[Also in Division F1] A device for clearing sanitary equipment comprises a tubular body 1 of a plastics material having a double acting piston movable therein, an elbow shaped member 2 one end of which is mounted on one end of the body and the other end of which provides a portion whose longitudinal axis is obliquely arranged with respect to the longitudinal axis of the tubular body, a rubber sleeve 3 on the other end of the elbow shaped member 2 and a handle 4, 5 at the other end of the body, the handle being adapted to guide a piston rod 6 connected to the piston. The sleeve 3 may have an internally bevelled free end. The piston has the form of a diabolo the two tapering portions of which are urged outwardly by helical springs arranged in an annular form (Fig. 2, not shown). The piston has a metal disc at its mid-plane. In a modification (Figs. 3, 4, not shown) the rubber sleeve is longer so that the free end thereof is readily deformable from its circular configuration. The device may be used in conjunction with an apertured plate 11.
