Abstract

Tyres, elastic, special apparatus for making.- In a machine for rolling fabric plies on to a rotating core, in the manufacture of tyre casings, the rollers E are carried by a head A, which is so oscillated as to give the rollers an arcuate path over the core B<1> to compensate for the circumferential movement of the core. In the construction shown, the rollers are mounted on fingers D pivoted on spindles C on the head A and connected in pairs by adjustable springs F. The head A is connected by links J, H, to a crank G on a rotary shaft G<1>. To vary the throw of the head, and the travel of the rollers over the core, the pin connecting the links H, J is suspended by a bracket L from a crank M which can be set in any adjusted position. To prevent back-lash, the head is connected by springs N to fixed hooks N'.
