Abstract
1,260,498. Papermaking. KONINKLIJKE PAPIERFABRIEKEN VAN GELDER ZONEN N.V. 12 Sept., 1969 [13 Sept., 1968], No. 43041/70. Divided out of 1,260,497. Heading D2A. Apparatus for forming paper includes an endless porous carrier 1, movable over rollers 2, 3, 4, 5; means 6 for supplying a suspension of loose fibres to the carrier; one or more suction devices 7; one or more tanks 13 for containing a binder dispersion; one or more washing devices 14, for washing the carrier; a roller 12, having a diameter of 10-60cm disposed within the tank, the carrier being arranged to pass under tension around this roller; and a belt 9 arranged between the carrier and the roller to cover the carrier during passage through the tank. As shown, the belt may be endless, and be equipped with washing devices 15. Suction devices 8 may be provided after the impregnation. The rising and downwardly inclined parts of the carrier/ belt preferably make an acute angle with each other. This apparatus is suitable for carrying out the method of Specification 1,260,497.
