Abstract

1,260,292. Electro-phoretic painting. GOODLASS WALL & CO. Ltd. March 10, 1969 [March 9, 1968], No.11612/68. Addition to 1,086,325. Heading C7B. In a modification of the invention of the parent Specification at least one aluminium electrode is used as counter-electrode, the metal object to be coated being of a metal other than aluminium. The counter-electrode or electrodes may in the form of wire or strip. The coating resin may be an alkyd resin, e.g. one derived from drying oil fatty acids, polyhydric alcohols and trimellitic anhydride, epoxy ester resins having free acid groups or carboxylic acid anhydride modified partial fatty acid esters of epoxy resins. Cell voltages of 30-500 volts A.C. with current densities of 5-20 amps/square foot may be used for 30 seconds to 5 minutes.
