[Also in Division D1] Apparatus for correcting weft thread distortions in fabric 3 comprises a rotatable roller 4 about which the fabric passes and which is mounted on an axle 5, the roller 4 and the axle 5 each consisting of two parts 6, 7 and 8, 9, respectively; a hinge joint 10 connecting the parts 8, 9 to each other and resting on an additional support 11; and main supports 12, 13 in which the free ends of the parts 8, 9 are hinged and which are mutually displaceable in the case of weft thread distortions so as to swing the parts 6, 7 about the joint 10 in order to change the length of the distance travelled by different sections of a distorted weft thread. As shown, the fabric 3 is fed by rotating rolls 1, 2. Each support 12, 13 consists of a nut 14 fitted on a screw 15 rotatably by an electric motor 16 through a reduction gear 17. During correction of weft thread distortions by movement of one or both of the nuts 14, the support 11 is shifted relative to the supports 12, 13 to prevent slipping of the fabric 3 toward the support 11 and to reduce creasing of the fabric.
