Abstract

1,259,325. Friction clutches; securing clutch plates on hubs. R. JORN. 26 Sept., 1969 [27 Sept., 1968], No. 47617/69. Headings F2C and F2U. In a friction clutch wherein driving cones 10, 11 are moved axially apart into engagement with complementary surfaces on a two-part driven drum 15, 16, each cone is connected to a flange 2, 3 of a driving shaft 1 by a polygonal ring of rubber blocks 26 ... 33 secured to metal plates 4, 8, 19 ... 25 which are alternately secured to the flange 2 (or 3) and cone 10 (or 11). The rubber blocks may be initially precompressed. The clutch may be engaged by supplying pressure air to a servo 14 or bellows between the cones 10, 11. In a modification (not shown) a driving flange or flanges may be arranged between the driving cones.
