1,259,213. Yarn treatment sleeves. E. JUNGBECKER, C. JUNGBECKER, G. JUNGBECKER and J. JUNGBECKER JNR. [trading as JOS. ZIMMERMANN]. 17 Nov., 1969 [25 Nov., 1968], No. 56132/69. Heading B8M. 'Sleeve for reeling and/or wet treating yarn comprises end rings 10, 11, spaced intermediate rings 12, 12a, 12b between the end rings, and rows of webs 13 connecting the intermediate rings with each other and with the end rings, the webs being inclined to the axial direction, each web in a row being associated with another web in the same row which other web is inclined to same extent but in the opposite sense. In a preferred embodiment, the webs in consecutive rows are in mirror image disposition. The webs in each row are preferably in zig-zag form, each web contacting at each end the end of an adjacent web. The distance between the end rings 10, 11 and the intermediate rings 12a, 12b adjacent thereto is preferably one half the distance between adjacent intermediate rings. Crosswebs may be provided between the webs in the rows adjacent the end rings; in the case of a frusto-conical sleeve, the cross-webs are located at the smaller end of the sleeve, and an additional intermediate ring is provided between the other end ring and the adjacent intermediate ring. The sleeve is preferably made of plastics material.
