Abstract
1,258,038. Heat exchanger tubes. OLIN CORP. 19 June, 1970 [1 July, 1969], No. 29990/70. Heading F4S. A heat exchange tube is formed with a plurality of independent helical grooves in its wall, adjacent grooves being separated by a land, and the tubing satisfying the following formula wherein L.W.=land width; G.W.=groove width; and 0 = angle of advance of the helically extending grooves. The wall thickness of the tube may be from 0À010 inch to 0À50 inch. The tube outside diameter may be from 0À25 inch to 10À5 inches. The tube material may be copper, aluminium or titanium, or their alloys. Welded seam tubing may be utilized for the tube. The tube ends may be plain for attachment to tube plates.
