Abstract

1,257,192. Snap-action switches. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. 21 March, 1969 [25 March, 1968], No. 14253/68. Heading H1N. The description is the same as that in Specification 1,257,191, but the claims relate to a fuse switch comprising a moulded fuse carrier movable in a housing and having a number of compartments for separately receiving a like number of fuses, wherein the fuses are connected between contact blades -extending unidirectionally from one side of the carrier between outstanding wall portions thereof which screen the blades from one another, and wherein the housing includes a moulded member containing a number of co-operating contact sets with which the blades make and break contact upon switching in response to movement of the carrier, the member having a number of separate chambers in which the contact sets are disposed and being slotted to accommodate the outstanding wall portions whereby locally to contain any arc products produced upon switching.
