Abstract

1,155,373. Mechanical switches. SPECTROL ELECTRONICS CORP. 16 Sept., 1966 [20 Sept., 1965], No. 41537/66. Heading H1N. A miniature rotary switch having a moulded rotor 23 carrying one or more moving contacts 22 for connecting a common ring 25 to selected contacts 19 is provided with a locating device comprising a pair of resiliently deformable beams 27 moulded integrally with the rotor 23 and having projecting portions 28 which engage detents (51 to 60, Fig. 3, not shown) moulded in the side wall 14 of base member 13. The beams 27 may be fixed to the rotor 23 at both ends (Fig. 3, not shown) or of cantilever form (Fig. 5, not shown). Cams 24 moulded in base 13 lift the contact 22 off contacts 19 with a rapid break action as the rotor is moved between its located positions. The switch is sealed by a silicone rubber lining 15 inside the crimped-on cover 12.
