[Also in Divisions C5 ano D1] Particulate compositions used in sanitizing the waters of swimming pools comprise a water - soluble peroxymonosulphate and a water-soluble non-reactive salt of an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid containing 1-4 carbon atoms. The peroxymonosulphate may be an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium salt of peroxymonosulphuric acid and is preferably KHSO 5 .H 2 O or KHSO 4 .K 2 SO 4 . 2KHSO 5 . The carboxylic acid salt is preferably an alkali metal, ammonium, alkaline earth metal, magnesium, cadmium or zinc salt of formic, acetic, propionic or butyric acid.
