A suspended scaffolding cradle 1 is supported by stirrups 17 pivotally attached between cranked plates 3, which are welded to the upper ends of vertical tubular members 2, so that when the platform is inclined the suspension wire and the stirrup remain aligned and substantially vertical. The cradle may have a stirrup at each end or it may form part of a walkway around a building in which successive cradles are suspended at one end only, the other ends being supported by adjacent cradles.
