1,255,609. Automatic circuit - breakers. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 14 May, 1969 [31 May, 1968], No. 26143/68. Heading H1N. In an automatic circuit-breaker connected in a circuit at terminals 11, 12, Fig. 2, and in which a hot wire strip 20 in the load circuit snaps a blade 13 to open contacts 14 on overload, a heating coil 15 normally shunted by the contacts 14 is placed in circuit to heat the strip 20 when the contacts 14 open and thereby maintain open circuit. The heating coil 15 is arranged to maintain the current at an acceptable level.
