Abstract
1,116,603. Automatic circuit breakers. DORMAN & SMITH Ltd. 10 Jan., 1966 [26 Jan., 1965], No. 3291/65. Heading H1N. A polyphase circuit breaker of the kind described in Specification 1,116,601, is assembled from a plurality of smaller circuit breakers coupled together by the device of Specification 1,116,604, generally in the manner described in Specification 1,116,602 but each of the small circuit breakers is modified by the provision of an internal conductor which links together the moving contacts of all poles and connects them to a single terminal 49, a single thermal and/or electromagnetic tripping mechanism being responsive to the total current flowing in said conductor to trip the smaller breaker and thus the whole polyphase circuit breaker.
