Abstract

1,255,355. Vulcanizing rubber. NATURAL RUBBER PRODUCERS RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. 30 Dec., 1969 [7 Jan., 1969], No. 1056/69. Heading C3E. The vulcanizing ingredients in a vulcanizable rubber composition are chosen so that (a) there is an induction period on heating the composition before vulcanization starts; and (b) each ingredient is either insoluble in the rubber or, if soluble, is present in a smaller concentration than that which would provide a saturated solution at ambient temperature. The exemplified compositions comprise sulphur, bis-4,4- dithiomorpholine and accelerators selected from tetrabutylthiuram disulphide and benzthiazole sulphenamides.
