Abstract

1,255,335. Electrophotographic material. RICOH K.K. 5 Dec., 1968 [12 Dec., 1967], No. 57880/68. Heading H1K. An electrophotographic material comprises a resin-containing photoconductive layer applied to a base material wherein the resin is water soluble or water dispersible and the layer contains a saturated aliphatic alcohol having 5 to 16 carbon atoms in an amount at least 0À2 wt. per cent of the resin. The base is preferably paper and the layer contains ZnO. Suitable resins are melamine - formaldehyde, urea - formaldehyde, acrylic, alkyd, vinyl acetate copolymers or dispersions of synthetic rubbers. The alcohols may be amyl, hexyl, heptyl, octyl, nonyl, decyl, undecyl, lauryl, myristyl, or cetyl. A dye sensitizer may be added.
