Abstract

125,482. Du Pont de Nemours & Co., E. I., and O'Neil, A. S. Aug. 17, 1916, [Convention date]. Explosives.-Consists in impregnating the surface of nitrocellulose powder grains to an appreciable depth with dinitrotoluene to which may be added camphor and diphenylamine. The impregnating material in powdered form and the nitrocellulose grains are tumbled in a revolving barrel, heat is then applied, and the coated grains immersed in hot water for several hours to cause the impregnation. Specification 15553/98 is referred to.
