Abstract

1,254,668. Drills. GUNNAR FREDRIKSON A.B. 3 Aug., 1970, No. 37324/70. Heading B3C. [Also in Division F2] An externally threaded rod 3 having a cutting edge 14 at one end is screwed into an internally threaded socket 2 cast in a structure 16 and is then turned from the side to cause the cutting edge to drill into a wall part 17. A nut 4 for turning the rod 3 has a plain bore with internal lugs (12) (Fig. 3, not shown) which engage in axial slots 11 in the rod. Alternatively the rod may be of square section with rounded, screwthreaded corners, the nut having a plain square bore. The rod 3 is preferably hollow to receive chips of drilled material.
