Abstract

1,254,541. After-treatment of dyed nylon. COURTAULDS Ltd. 25 April, 1969 [29 Jan., 1968], No. 4469/68. Heading D1B. The colour fastness of dyed nylon is improved by applying to the dyed nylon an aqueous solution of tannic acid or a syntan and thereafter treating with a solution of a salt of tin (stannous), bismuth, chromium (chromic) or zinc, preferably as sulphate, chloride or acetate. The tannic acid or syntan is preferably applied as 2-5% by weight of the nylon in presence of 2-30% by weight of nylon of acid, e.g. acetic or formic acid.
