Abstract
1,254,055. Mechanical interrupters. DUCELLIER ET CIE. 2 April, 1969 [3 April, 1968], No. 17170/69. Heading H1N. In an ignition distributer for a road vehicle of the type shown at least one of the contacts 3 of the contact breaker assembly is carried .by a plate 6 having an opening 8 the periphery of which is engaged by the cam 1 or cam-shaft plate 6 being held against rotation with the cam-shaft 2. As shown, movable contact 14 with-cam follower 18 is mounted on post 16 on base-plate 7 fastened to the distributer housing. A compression - spring 10, connected between flap 11 of plate 7 and lug 12 of plate 6 maintainsthe inner surface of flange 9 of plate 6 in contact with cam 1. Cam 1 is coupled to the remainder of shaft 2 through a centrifugal governor (not shown). In a second embodiment, Figs. 2, 5 (not shown), movable contact 14 is pivotally mounted on a pin 21 at one end of a timing lever 22 pivotally mounted on a pivot 23 on base-plate 7 and the opposite end 22a of lever 22 is connected to a rod 24 connected to the diaphragm of a vacuum capsule (not shown). Also compression spring 10 is replaced by a tension spring 10A. In a third embodiment, Figs. 3, 6 (not shown) compression spring 10 is replaced by tension spring 10A and movable contact 14 is mounted on a plate 32 above contact 14, plate 32 being located on-cam-shaft 2 and being connected to a rod 24 of a vacuum capsule.
