Abstract
1,253,575. Gas-filter of the gas-pervious bag type. SLICK CORP. 16 June, 1969, No. 30457/ 69. Heading B1T. In a gas-filter comprising a group of tubular, gas-pervious fabric bags, each bag (Fig. 2) is connected at its lower end to a thimble 42 positioned in an aperture 44 in a tube plate 14 and at its upper end to tensioning means 24, and comprises at least three sections 18a, 18b, 18c releasably connected by rigid couplings 40 which oppose inward collapse of the bag. The rigid couplings 40 are preferably metallic, and have internal beadings; and the bag sections have flexible snap rings, secured to at least one end, and adapted to be forced past the beadings. In the filter chamber 12 (Fig. 1) there are several groups of such bags; and each group communicates with a respective dust discharge hopper 16 having a worm conveyor 36. By selectively opening valves in lines 35 a selected group of bags is backwashed.
