Abstract

1411059 Filter bag support ROYAL WIRE PRODUCTS INC 17 April 1973 18380/73 Heading BIT A filter bag support comprises an inner cage 9 axially, but not rotatably, movable in outer cage 8, the cages being constructed such that they lock together when the support is fully extended. Cage 8 is welded to thimble 30 to which bag 6 is clamped. Cages 8, 9 comprise respectively vertical wires 10, 50 and respectively outer hoops 11-16 and inner hoops 51-57. Hoop 16 is provided with arcuate portions 18 and the wires 10 in arcuate portions 18 are bent at 22 to form locking seats between the shoulders 25 and arcuate portions 18. Hoops 51-55 are formed with arcuate portions 58 and hoops 56. 57 are circular. The arcuate portions 18 and 58 are aligned so that the cages may be relatively moved. When the support is in its extended position the hoop 56 is snap-fitted into the locking seats. In Fig I (not shown) a filter apparatus comprises a number of internally supported bags suspended from a partition dividing a heated housing into clean and dirty gas zones. The bags may be cleaned by shock waves.
