Abstract

1,253,441. Mowing machines. BRITISH LELY Ltd. 12 Feb., 1969 [19 Feb., 1968], No. 7693/69. Heading A1F. A mowing machine driven by a tractor 2 has two mowing units 22 and 22A disposed at opposite sides of the tractor path such that the mowing units cut the crop on either side of and adjacent to the tractor path, the width of the path being equal to the cutting span of each mowing unit. The mowing units may be reciprocating bars or cutters rotatable about vertical axes and are tiltable to an inoperative position by hydraulic means (Fig. 3, not shown). They can be operated either singly or together.
