Abstract

1,133,090. Combine harvesters. TEXAS INDUSTRIES Inc. 17 Nov., 1965 [27 Nov., 1964], No. 37879/67. Divided out of 1,133,087. Heading A1F. A harvesting machine includes a mowing platform comprising two relatively pivotable portions which are located side by side in operation, and a supplementary cutter a part of which is located between. said portions in the intended direction of operative travel of the machine. As illustrated a rotary cutter 105 is driven by a hydraulic motor 106 via a shaft 104. Alternatively the shaft is rotated by one of the augers 102 via a belt, pulleys and bevel gearing. In a second embodiment Fig. 4 (not shown) the cutter is positioned rearwardly of the cutter bars of the portions. The supplementary cutter may be a reciprocating knife.
