Abstract
1,253,358. Moderator structures. NUCLEAR POWER GROUP Ltd. 3 Feb., 1969 [19 Feb., 1968], No. 8052/68. Heading G6C. The graphite moderator blocks of a high temperature reactor are formed with both fuel and coolant passages by machining with a mortise chain cutter. In the graphite block 1, the fuel passages 2 are arranged alternately with the cooling fluid passages 3. In an alternative form, Fig. 3, the passages are open at the edge of the block which is enclosed in the graphite sleeve 5.
