125,314. Fowler, G. Sept. 12, 1918. Stoppers and lids, catch; vacuum, closures.-The lid &c. B of a jug, jar, bottle, &c. is secured in place by two or more metal clips C engaging a projection on the body of the vessel, the upper ends of the clips engaging a wire, sheet-metal, rubber, or other connecting-device D, which may be so shaped that it can be inverted to suit vessels having mouths of different sizes. Various forms of clips and connecting-devices may be used, but in all cases the clips are so shaped that they can be turned end for end to suit vessels having mouths of different sizes.
