Abstract
1,252,998. Vehicle doors. BINZ & CO. 16 Dec., 1969 [18 Dec., 1968], No. 61235/69. Heading B7J. A tool box space is defined by the walls 21 and 13 of a double-walled door 10, the space being accessible from the inside of the vehicle 11 upon which the door 10 is mounted. The outer wall 13 of the vehicle door 10 forms the base of the box and has hooks 14 and straps or eyelets 15 for fastening the tools 16. The walls 17, 18, 19 and 20 of the tool box 12 extend transversely between the walls 13 and 21 and serve to increase the rigidity of the walls 13, 21. The inner wall 21 has an access opening 22 to the interior 23 of the box 12, which opening 22 may be closed by a flap or a roller blind type shutter (not shown). Also, the bottom side-wall 20 of the tool box 12 has a flange or ledge 24 for receiving loose tools. The tool box 12 may alternatively be formed by a prefabricated insert box of synthetic resin or glass fibre reinforced plastics material.
