Abstract

Tyre attachments to rims. - The tyre edges, reinforced by wires F, F<1> or other metal insertions, are secured in grooves E formed by the rim flanges and the edges of an intermediate ring D, Fig. 1, or raised parts A<1>, Fig. 8, of the rim base. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the ring D and the detachable flange C are formed expansible and contractible for assemblage. In Fig. 8, a pair of detachable flanges C are shown secured by bolts N. In the case of wide rims, the rim base and the ring D may be corrugated. The invention is stated to be particularly applicable to aeroplane wheels.
