1,247,645. Launching cradles. STOCZNIA SZCZECINSKA IM. ADOLFA WARSKIEGO. 25 Feb., 1970 [27 Feb., 1969], No. 8969/70. Heading B7S. A buoyant launching cradle for supporting a ship's bow comprises a pontoon 4 with lateral arms 5 provided with cylindrical surfaces engaging corresponding cylindrical surfaces of sliding cradles 2 supported, in use, on launching ways 1. The pontoon upper surface is flat and has guides 7 for props 8, which are adjustable to fit various bows and are secured by turnbuckles 11. Cradles 2 are adjusted to the launching way widths and spacings by distance pieces 16. Stay ropes 17 and 20 secure the cradle to the ship. Rope 21 is used for removing the cradle after launching.
