Abstract

1,246,740. Colour television tubes. SONY CORP. 23 Dec., 1969 [27 Dec., 1968], No. 62734/69. Heading H1D. [Also in Division H2] In a colour television tube wherein three beams diverge from a common focusing lens and are converged on a shadow mask or grill by means of two pairs of deflection plates, the plates are connected respectively to two wall coatings 241 and 16<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 5, which are connected respectively to an inner conductor 21<SP>1</SP> and an outer conductor 18<SP>1</SP> of an anode button provided on the conical part C<SP>1</SP> of the envelope. The coating 16<SP>1</SP> may be the usual wall coating covering all the cone except for a narrow strip on which the strip coating 24<SP>1</SP> is deposited. The co-operating connection comprises a cable 30<SP>1</SP> provided with two conductors 28<SP>1</SP> and 29<SP>1</SP> which are joined to terminals 43 and 44. Terminal 44 is connected to a tubular inner conductor longitudinally split to define fingers adapted to engage conductor 21<SP>1</SP>. Terminal 43 is connected to a ring 39<SP>1</SP> from which depend a number of fingers 40<SP>1</SP> which are adapted to bear against a flange 19<SP>1</SP> on the electrode 18<SP>1</SP>. An axially slidable ring 45 in the position shown bears on the fingers 40<SP>1</SP> so that they may pass freely through the flange 19<SP>1</SP>; when the ring 45 is lowered the fingers 40<SP>1</SP> spring apart and engage the flange 19<SP>1</SP>. The plug is enclosed within a rubber cap 33<SP>1</SP> provided with a flexible skirt 38<SP>1</SP>. In a modification, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), the ring 45 is omitted and the cable extends coaxially away from the anode button.
