Abstract

124,673. Lynde, F. C. Sept. 26, 1918. Ferrules or tips.-Relates to pads for the ends uf crutches, sticks, and artificial limbs. The pad is made of rubber and is constructed with a socket a to receive the end of the crutch &c. The part a<1> of the pad may be provided with a non-slipping tubular insertion-piece B, which may consist of a number of layers of fabric solutioned together and vulcanized before or after insertion. Or the part a<1> may be formed with an air cavity D; or with both a tubular insertion and an air cavity. One or more inexpansible rings C may be applied to prevent spreading and retard wear. A metal &c. plate d may be placed at the bottom of the socket a. A flanged metal plate a<2> may be embodied in the pad. Reference is made to Specification 120,106.
