Abstract
1,245,733. Proximity switches; switching transistor oscillators. VDO TACHOMETER WERKE ADOLF SCHINDLING G.m.b.H. 23 Jan., 1970 [25 Jan., 1969] No. 3513/70. Heading H3T. [Also in Division G1] In a damped oscillator type proximity switch, feedback is varied with the oscillator output to provide a SNAP-ACTION IN/OUT of OSCILLATION, to avoid the need for a subsequent trigger circuit. As shown, a Colpitt's oscillator Tr 1 has a capacitance-diode (or voltage sensitive capacitor) Co controlled by overall feedback through R 1 to vary the "feedback factor" of the oscillator. The oscillator output is amplified by Tr 2 and rectified by diode D to apply bias of a polarity that the output of Tr 3 increases as the oscillations decrease, whereby capacitor-diode Co further reduces oscillation. A recorder may be connected to the output of Tr 3 . Applications.-Counting objects; measuring length of objects moving at a predetermined speed; tachometer generator used in conjunction with a driven magnet-wheel.
