Abstract

1,245,519. Knitting machines. SOLIS S.r.L. 23 July, 1969 [24 July, 1968], No. 36928/69. Heading D1C. A fabric tensioning and take-down device comprises a rotatable inner perforated sleeve 16 connected to a suction tube 26 and a stationary outer sleeve 5 connected to a suction tube 22. In use, at the commencement of knitting, suction is applied through the tube 26 until the fabric reaches the outlet 24, the suction is then transferred to the tube 26 to draw the fabric against the rotating perforated tube 16. When the knitted fabric leaves the needle cylinders suction is again transferred to the tube 26 to draw away the fabric.
