[Also in Division E1] The haulage means of a drag line scraper system for feeding a batching plant is designed to allow for a faster outhaul than inhaul of the scoop of the system. In the means a chain drive 15 couples a non-reversible motor 14 to the input shaft 16 of a reversible, two-speed gear 17 having an output shaft 18 coupled by chain drive 19 to a countershaft 21. This countershaft 21 is directly coupled by a chain drive 23 to the inhaul cable drum 24 and is indirectly coupled by a clutch 26 and chain drive 30 to the outhaul cable drum 29. The drums 24 and 29 are freely rotatable on a supporting shaft 25. The output shaft 18 of the reversing gear 17 can be declutched from the gear 17 and can be provided with a brake 33 for its stationary holding. Associated with the brake 33 is a brake 32 controlled by and controlling the drum 29. Also switching means actuated in accordance with the position of the scoop in its cyclic travel are incorporated in the system to so control the gear 17 and brakes 32, 33 as to automatically maintain the cyclic travel of the scoop.
