Abstract

1,140,327. Drag scrapers; winches. ELBAWERK ETTLINGER BAUMASCHINENUND HEBEZEUG - FABRIK G.m.b.H. 18 Aug., 1967 [23 Aug., 1966(2)], No. 38083/67. Headings B8B and B8E. A drag-line scraper device for loading bulk material, in particular building materials for concrete-mixing installations, in a distributer 1 with fixing 4 for partition walls (not shown) delineating sector-shaped dump locations, comprises a bridge 5 of L-shape pivoted on the distributer 1 at the end of its horizontal arm 5a and supported through its vertical arm 5b on the ground outside the dump by a wheel 6 with an electrical travelling drive 7. As shown in Figs. 1, 2 an electrical drag-line scraper drive arrangement 8 has separate drums 25, 26 respectively for a drag-line 9 and a return cable 10. The cable loop (9, 10) remains evenly tensioned when the drums 25, 26 are synchronously rotated. The drums 25, 26 may also be rotated relatively to one another through an epicyclic gear system (29), Fig. 3, (not shown) and electromagnetic multiplate clutches (30), (31). The sequence of operations is controlled by beads 42, 47 on cables 9, 10 co-operating with limit switches 43, 48 and a return switch 46 actuated by a tripping lever 45 on return pulley 12 mounted on a compensating spring 44. When the bucket 11 completes a working stroke switch 43 is actuated and drum 26 is rotated faster than drum 25 so that the bucket 11 is lifted and discharged as the cable loop (9, 10) is tightened. Switch 46 is then actuated resulting in drums 25, 26 rotating synchronously to return the drum 11<SP>1</SP> in suspended manner until switch 48 is tripped. The bucket 11<SP>11</SP> drops as shown, the time for this phase being set on a timed relay (not shown), the relay then switching in the drive for a further cycle. Various arrangements of drives are illustrated in Figs. 4 to 6 (not shown), respectively incorporating: a single drive motor with an electromagnetic clutch; two separate drive motors and an elastically suspended pulley; and two separate drive motors with no return arrangement for the return cable. Fig. 7 shows an arrangement wherein a tensioning winch 116 is used, cable drums 125, 126 being synchronously driven by a motor 121.
