Abstract

1,128,491. Conveyers. SIEMAG MASCHINEN - UND STAHLBAU NETPHEN G.m.b.H. 6 Oct., 1965 [12 Oct., 1964], No. 42357/65. Heading B8A. A turntable 9 at the junction between tracks 5-8 of four walking beam conveyers has recesses into which the walking beams can extend so that coils 1 of strip material can be supplied to and removed from the centre of the turntable. The walking beam 14 of track 7, for example, is supported by roller-levers 20 which, in Fig. 2, are in the position they adopt in a lowered position of the beam. The beam is moved longitudinally by an hydraulic cylinder 23 and is raised and lowered by an hydraulic cylinder 21 whose piston rod 24 is pivotally connected to the lever 20 nearest the cylinder 21. The levers 20 are connected by a draw rod 22. The turntable is motor-driven via a worm transmission 17, 18, the motor being reversible to enable the axis of the coils to be changed.
