Abstract

1,245,047. Bursting discs. CORNELIUS CO. April 22, 1969, No.20579/69. Heading F1P. [Also in Division F2] A combined valve and handle 10 for attachment to a pressurized gas bottle 18 has a valve member 12 movable axially relative to seat 26 by rotation of knob 13 having a non-circular shaft extension 44 slidable in the valve member. The handle 14 has a skirt 38 retained on the valve body by bolt 15 and includes regions 42 which fracture to allow escape of gas passing to chamber 33 from the bottle through frangible relief disc 16. Bolt 15 serves additionally, to prevent direct impact of the gas stream upon wall 40 of the handle. The outlet 20 receives gas via passage 28 and can be covered by a cap chained to a clip (40) retained by bolt 15. The top of the bottle defines with the top of the handle an imaginary conical envelope within which knob 13 is located for protection. The valve shaft has a collar 46 located between seals compressed by cap 48.
