[Also in Division E1] A ceiling cover structure comprising an integral sheet of plastics or rubber material is, prior to being erected in position, treated with a swelling agent, and the sheeting lining swollen to an increase in size of at least 2% then erected, whereafter the swelling agent is allowed to evaporate totally so that the sheeting contracts and obtains a flat, stretched surface. The sheeting of, e.g., P.V.C., is formed from a number of smaller sheets welded together and is provided with circumferentially extending edge reinforcements, e.g. fabric/wire reinforced strips, to facilitate attachment to the side portions of the ceiling. The sheeting may be treated with a curing agent before, during, and/or after being treated with the swelling agent.
