Abstract

1,032,764. Suspended ceiling &c. panels. ISORA ILLUMINATING CEILINGS Ltd. Dec. 5, 1962 [Sept. 7, 1961], No. 32176/61. Heading E1V. A ceiling or wall is composed of removable panels 10, Fig. 3, supported on a gridwork, the panels each comprising a rigid frame 20 over one or both faces of which is stretched a flexible sheet or film 12, 14, in which the or each sheet or film is protected against chaffing where it passes over the outer edge of the frame 20 by protective strips 34 which extend along the sides of the frame, and additionally serve to fasten the edges of the sheet or film to the frame. The frame 20 has arcuate corners and the portions of the sheet or film passing over these corners are protected by arcuate clips 36, Fig. 4 (not shown). The flexible sheet or film may be made of synthetic plastic, or woven or rubberized fabric and may be translucent, transparent or opaque. It may also be provided with a thin metalized surface. The strips 34 and clips 36 may be of metal or synthetic plastic material. The gridwork comprises metal strips with V-shaped lower surfaces 26, the strips being connected to form a gridwork by connecting members of cruciform or T-shape.
