Sights and methods of sighting.-Relates to camactuated sighting-apparatus for ordnance, of the kind in which the cam is situated a substantial distance from the axis of elevation of the sight bracket. According to the invention, the cam B, instead of act. ing directly upon the range arm, operates through a longitudinally-movable bar or member C which is pivotally connected to the range arm A<2> of the sight bracket A at a point c as near as possible to the axis of elevation x of the bracket, so that large range adjustments can be effected with a. range cam of ordinary size. The invention is shown applied to sighting-apparatus of the kind described in Specification 17266/15; it may also be applied to the gun mounting described in Specification 16988/15. At the cam end, the rod C is forked to receive a block c<1>, Fig. 3, which slides in a guide or bracket B<1> attached to the gun cradle and supporting the cam B and range dial B<2>. The block c<1> is mounted upon a screwpin c<2> rotatable in the forked-end of the rod, and carrying a roller C' which bears against the cam B under the influence of a spring b acting upon a sliding rod b<1> connected to the slide block c'. The spring is housed in a casing b<2>, and bears against a collar b<5> on the rod b<1>, which passes through the casing as shown.
