Abstract
1,244,730. Winding lay-outs for dynamoelectric machines; control of A.C. motors. INSTITUT ELEKTRODINAMIKI AN UKSSR. 26 April, 1968, No. 4162/68. Headings H2A and H2J. In a polyphase winding for the rotor of an asynchronous motor, each of the phase windings A, B, C consists of four branches forming a bridge circuit connected to inductive reactances 5 ... 10 mounted on the rotor outside the machine. Each phase has P 1 pole-pairs between the points 1, 3 and P 2 pole-pairs between points 2, 4 and, as shown, the windings and reactances are star-connected with respect to the points 2, 4. In another arrangement, Fig. 1b (not shown), the phase windings are not connected to each other. Excitation of the stator to produce P 1 or P 2 pole-pairs produces a corresponding rotating field in the rotor between points 1, 3 or 2, 4 whilst excitation of the stator to produce both P 1 and P 2 pole-pairs produces two superimposed rotating fields in the rotor.
