Abstract

124,357. Gitsham, W. A. July 12, 1918. Arc lamps.-A holder or adapter for short pieces of electrodes comprises a metal block A with a socket E for the electrode. Transverse to the socket is a slot containing a slide B, having a hole for the electrode and attached to a bolt F. A collar C<1> secured to the block A and a collar C loose on the bolt have cam-faces so as to draw the slide inwards when the collar C is rotated by a handle G. A round or other stem D may be attached to the block A, for insertion in an ordinary carbonholder; the stem may be bored co-axially with the block.
