Abstract

[Also in Divisions B3 and D1] In an agricultural baler having a tying device operated by a complete revolution of a pinion 34 driven by a gear 19 having an interrupted set of like gear teeth 35, the first tooth 34a of the pinion which is engaged by the end tooth 35a of the interrupted gear 19 has a larger radius than the other teeth of the pinion so as to accommodate the greater wear thereof. The pinion 34 drives a rotatable bill hook 33. A knife 37 is carried by an arm 36. A continuous set of gear teeth (28), Fig. 2 (not shown), on the gear 19 drive a twine disc 32 through a bevel gear (27) and worm drive (29, 30).
