Abstract

1,146,035. Knotter. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO. 2 May, 1966, No. 19122/ 66. Heading D1C. A cord holder disc 61 in a hay baler comprises a main body portion and two first slots 42, 44 adjacent a spring leaf portion 50 each taking the bale end of the twine and two second slots 41, 45 each in the free end of the leaf spring section to receive the needle end of the twine. The pair of such cord holder discs is incorporated in a knotter. In operation the twine extends through the slots 31, 41, behind the disc 40, through the slots 44, 34 and around the bale. The twine is held by a pivoted keeper 26. When the bale is complete the needle passes the twine through slots 33, 45. Rotation in the anticlockwise direction of the knotter passes the twine to a rotary bill hook and a twine cutting blade.
