[Also in Divisions C6 and G2] A dermatome comprises an upwardly directed convex part-cylindrical surface 11 for supporting a workpiece, mounted on a stand 1, a rotary and axially reciprocable shaft 8 mounted on the workpiece support coaxially with the surface, longitudinally adjustable radial arms 13 mounted on the ends of the shaft for rotation therewith and a blade 15 extending axially between the outer ends of the arms, the arrangement being such that the blade is radially adjustable relative to the surface, pivotal over the surface and simultaneously axially reciprocable to slice the workpiece. As described the workpiece support comprises a semicylindrical drum with ends 10 attached to sleeve 5, the sleeve having bearings 7 which mount the shaft 8 and are mounted for rotation in forks 2 of the stand. The drum is pivotally adjustable and held in working position by clamping arms 21 pressing friction discs 9 on the ends 10 against the forks 2.
