Abstract

1,241,829. Seat frames; cushions. HIMOLLA POLSTERMOBELWERK CARL HIERL G.m.b.H. 1 Aug., 1968 [2 Aug., 1967], No. 36820/68. Headings A4H, A4J and A4M. A seat, preferably for a vehicle, is of foam plastics material throughout and has a frame 4 receiving the lower part of a removable cushion 9, which is of harder foam material than the upper part of the cushion. The cushion 9 may be integrally formed with a border frame 10 of harder foam material. Additionally or alternatively, the cushion may have lower layers of harder foam material. The seat frame 4 includes angle-section metal reinforcement 8 in rigid foam plastics 5, which, in turn, is encased in a metal or plastics sheath. The back rest 2 is pivotally connected to the seat frame 4 and has a rigid foam plastics plate 11 covered with soft foam material 12. To avoid injury in a collision, plastic hinge reinforcements 16 are arranged to break off, when plate 11 fractures.
