Abstract
1,241,154. Swinging shoot. BADISCHE MASCHINENFABRIK G.m.b.H. 16 Jan., 1970 [17 Jan., 1969], No. 2341/70. Heading B8S. [Also in Division B3] Apparatus for sprinkling facing-sand on to a pattern plate 25 comprises a loading container 12 and a presser head 11 which are conjointly movable, a pipe 28 located between the container 12 and presser head 11, and a swingable shoot 8 arranged above the pipe, the shoot terminating in an upper funnel-shaped portion of the pipe 28. Rollers 14 on the pipe 28 are position and guide bifurcated arms 9 attached to the shoot 8 so that in all positions of the loading container 12 the end of the shoot is located within the funnel-shaped portion of the pipe 28. In operation, when the container 12 has been filled with body sand from a hopper 21, drive means 15 is actuated and moves the container 12, pipe 28 and presser head 11 to the left. This operates a switch 18 and thus causes facing sand to be discharged from the container 1 through funnel 6, shoot 8 and pipe 28 on to the pattern 25. When the pipe 28 reaches the end of the mould box 26, the motor 5 is stopped by actuation of switch 19 and the container 12 drops its contents into the mould box 26. The presser head 11, pipe 28 and container 12 are then moved-to the right where the container 12 is refilled from hopper 21 ready for the next cycle.
